Labour Relations Authority conducts routine inspections in all the tourist resorts in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll. These inspections were conducted in order to assess compliance with the Employment Act, and to recommend areas to be amended. A total of 13 tourist resorts were inspected during these inspections, which were carried out from 28th January to 02nd February.

In addition to these, the hotel development site at Raa Ifuru was also visited for inspection.
Under clause 81 of the Employment Act, Labour Relations Authority has the power to enter and check the work place without any prior notice in order to check the compliance with the Employment Act. Also, the Authority has the power to implement administrative fines due to non-compliance or non-cooperation.
